Power and wealth divides an originally peaceful rural area. Such conflicts symbolically reflect the reality of a divided Korea. Based on a short story by Reverend Lee Hyunjoo which was published in 1980, Borim Press publishes a visually unique and compelling book that teaches children to stand up against violence. As Korea remains the last divided country in the world, the book is invaluable as an instructional tool. Outstanding illustrations of My Second Cousin were selected for the 2005 Bologna Illustrators Exhibition and are scheduled for exhibition tour around Japan.
